The ’Sjóormurin’ pattern (English: seasnake) is found in many variations on the Faroese sailor sweaters. A cardigan adorned by this pattern is found on the Danish National Museum and a reconstruction of this cardigan was exhibited on the Danish War Museum as part of the 1948 uniform of a marine soldier. Here, Kirsten Fanger from Traditionel Strik has used the pattern for a soft children's sweater knitted in Pura Lana.

The sweater is worked in the round bottom-up. At the yoke the sweater is divided to front and back which are worked back and forth separately in pattern. The sleeves are worked in the round bottom-up.

The pattern is in Danish and English.
