TRS Sea Snake Hat
The hat is worked in the round bottom-up, starting with a ribbed edge folded over, followed by the Sea Snake Pattern in stockinette stitch, with the top of the hat adapting to the pattern.
The main color used for the ribbed edge, is a soft and sturdy fingering weight yarn type e.g. a thin sock yarn. For the pattern color can be used the same yarn as for the main color, but also more delicate yarn types of a similar thickness with e.g. silk or cashmere.
The pattern is available in Danish and English.
Needles
2.5mm (US 1.5) 40 cm (16") circular needle for the ribbed edge and hat. Either a second 2.5mm (US 1.5) circular needle for ’Working with two circulars’ see photo below or set of 2.5mm (US 1.5) double-pointed needles (dpns) for the top.
Change needle size if necessary, to obtain correct gauge.
Gauge
30 sts x approx. 38 rows = 10 cm (4") in stockinette stitch and pattern using 2.5mm (US 1.5) needles.
