Gepard Kongming – balloon-sleeved sweater D
The knitting pattern Kongming is an oversize sweater in a easy lace pattern with balloon sleeves. It's a summery version of Montgolfier, but Kongming is worked on needles 5,5 mm for the ribbing and needle 7 mm for the lace pattern. Kongming is knitted in Puf, a soft and airy blend of cotton and alpaca and.
The pattern name is inspired by one of the first man-made designs to use hot air for the purpose of flight were the Chinese lanterns called Kongming. Kongming-lanterns are therefore one ot the first step on the ladder of ballooning history.

This design is knitted using large needles and an airy yarn. It is therefore especially important that it is washed and put through spin cycle in a laundry wash bag, and dried flat (preferably on a towel).
Puf, the yarn used, shrinks approximately 10% in the first wash. This shrinkage is calculated into the finished measurements of the pattern.
