100% cashmere of the finest, long-fibre, ultra-light quality – soft, lightweight and versatile. Knit garments or accessories that indulge the senses and retain their beauty for many years. The same quality as our Cashmere Lace, developed and refined over more than 20 years.
Cashmere Klassik is not just any cashmere. It is a conscious choice – carefully developed and selected to give you an exceptionally soft yarn with a sophisticated, exclusive look, available in beautiful, flattering colours that follow current trends.
Cashmere is a wonderful choice if you value comfort both while knitting and when wearing your finished piece. Cashmere Klassik is a joy to knit with: the stitches glide effortlessly over the needles, and the work feels pleasantly light in your hands.
Cashmere Klassik is incredibly soft and completely non-itchy – the ideal choice for sensitive skin or anyone who simply loves comfort. Over time, the yarn develops a subtle halo without pilling or shedding fibres.
If you wish to encourage this soft, slightly fuzzy surface, you can soak your newly knitted piece in clean water for 24 hours (see care instructions below).
If you prefer to maintain a smoother surface, wash less frequently and keep washing times short.
Cashmere Klassik combines beautifully with other yarns, either in stripes or colourwork. For example, knit Cashmere Klassik in stripes with HørSilke on 3.5–4 mm needles, or use it as a contrast colour in stranded knitting together with Pura Lana. This allows you to add elegance and luxury to a more traditional wool yarn – and even small leftovers of Cashmere Klassik can be put to good use.
About the fibre
Cashmere fibre is extremely fine and hair-like in structure. Although often referred to as the underwool of the cashmere goat, it is technically a hair fibre. This gives the yarn different properties compared to sheep’s wool. Wool is highly elastic, while cashmere hair behaves more like silk: it has a beautiful drape but limited elasticity, depending on the twist and the knitted structure.
When choosing a design and size, we recommend allowing a little extra ease in width, so the knitted fabric can fully express its elegance when worn. Additional ease also improves thermal balance, ensuring the garment feels comfortable and well-regulated in temperature.
Yardage – measurement notes
The spinning method used for Cashmere Klassik differs slightly from most standard yarns. It is cable-spun, a construction that adds elasticity to the yarn. As a result, the stated yardage may vary slightly depending on how the length of 25 g is measured.
Gepard measures the yarn in its relaxed state, but Cashmere Klassik has the same yardage as other comparable 100% cashmere yarns spun in the same way.

To achieve a quicker soft halo:
Your cashmere knit can be soaked in clean water at room temperature, without detergent, for 12–24 hours. This allows the fibres to open up and become extra soft. Only use this method after testing a swatch to avoid surprises. This treatment should be done only once; subsequent washes should be short and gentle as normal.
Our Klassik Cashmere is a very highend cashmere with a lot of volume without using many gram of the yarn.
It means you can knit on a large range of needle sizes from 3½-5mm
For shawls we recomend 4½-5mm
for sweaters and like we recomend 3½-4mm
Handwash, dry flat. 20 max 25 Celcius degrees. and only a little neutral soape.
We highly recoment to use a laundry bag during all proceses. This helps the knit to keep the shape.
Cashmere is a strong fiber againt washing, it means it do not tend to felt but for sure it can, if you wash too hard.
100% Cashmere. 25g = +/- 105 m.
Made in Italy
For high quality cashmere, long, uniform fibres are used - unlike cheaper cashmere which is often produced from unsorted, mixed cashmere with short fibres and varying quality.
Cashmere is a strong, wash durable fibre. The more you wash your cashmere, the softer it gets. If you're knitting a shawl to give as a present - then wash it before giving it away.
Have attention on that our cashmere yarns are already carefully washed befor we put them on balls. During the washing proces we loose 10-12% of the weight. The washing proces also give space for a lot of air in the yarn = volume. If we not washed the yarns, we could offer the yarn minimum 12% cheaper. But we prefer to give you the best yarn with a lot of volume. In the end you will have a better result and use less ball/yarn for your project.
