*A Micron is the measurement used to describe the diameter of a wool fiber. Fibre diameter is the most important characteristic of wool in determining its value. The finest gauge wool comes from Merino sheep, all Merino wool is considered Very Fine.  A small micron value also means that merino wool feels much softer and smoother( not itchy) next to your skin, compared to other types of wool.
